THE THINGS THAT WERE, THE THINGS THAT ARE... 7
Notice the Prophet Zechariah here speaking with the Angel who showed him these things… Chapter 4, verse 1 and on, says:“And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep. And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof: And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.”
And now, notice in the Book of Revelation; chapter 1, verse 13, says:“And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.”Here we have those seven candlesticks or seven lamps on the candlestick; because that candlestick of Zechariah represents the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ; and these seven candlesticks or lamp stands here, represent the seven ages of the Church of Jesus Christ. And now, let’s also look at the two olive trees; it says that on each side of the candlestick—there were two olive trees, it says:“And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.” The Prophet Zechariah didn’t understand what thismeant, and he asked. And in the same chapter (chapter 4), verse 11 and on, it says:
“Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof? And I answered again, and said unto him, What bethese two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves? And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord. Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.”In other words, there are two characters here, the Two Anointed Ones that stand before the Presence of the God of the whole Earth.
And now, let’s see the Two Anointed Ones here inRevelation chapter 11, verse 3 and on, where it says: “And I will give power unto my two witnesses, andthey shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.”See? The same thing the Prophet Zechariah saw back then is now established here in the Book of Revelation; and the fulfillment of that candlestick with seven lamps is the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ going through Her seven stages or ages, those ages pertaining to the Holy Place of that spiritual Temple of Jesus Christ, which is His Church. And now, we find that those two olive trees are by the candlestick or lampstand, and in the Book of Revelation, chapter 11, they are the Two Anointed Ones that stand before the Presence of God, which are the ministries of Moses and Elijah to be manifested on Earth, which represent the Archangels Gabriel and Michael in Heaven. Now we can see that the things which are in Heaven, in the Temple of God in Heaven, must be materialized on Earth, in the spiritual Temple of Jesus Christ, which is His Church.
That is why we also find in the Book of Revelation, notice, in chapter 4, something very interesting here (chapter 4, verse 5, says):“And out of the throne proceeded lightnings andthunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne,” (there we have the candlestick or lampstand again, but in Heaven; there we have the seven lamps of fire), “which are the seven Spirits of God.” Now notice how in the Church of the Lord JesusChrist this is materialized in the seven stages or ages of the Gentile Church, where the candlestick or lampstand with its seven lamps—each lamp has a wick on fire with God; and that is the angel-messenger of each age filled with the Spirit of God, burning with the Fire of God; and through that messenger, the Light of the Shekinah, Jesus Christ, shining among His Church.Notice how the Church of Jesus Christ—which is the spiritual Temple of Jesus Christ—comes to reflect everything that is in the Temple of God in Heaven; just like in the tabernacle Moses built and the temple Solomon built, we find the things that are in Heaven represented in things that Moses built and put inside the temple:
we have the candlestick in the holy place, which is a type and figure of these seven burning lamps in Heaven, which are the seven Spirits of God; and in the Church of Jesus Christ they represent the seven ages with the messenger of each age on fire with the Holy Spirit. Now let’s also see in Revelation chapter 5, verse 6, where it says:“And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain,” (that’s Christ), “having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.”
Now notice how Jesus Christ, the Lamb, has seven horns and seven eyes; the seven horns are the seven stages or ages of the Church, and the seven eyes are the seven angel messengers of the seven ages. Eyes represent seers, prophets. And now, notice how in His Church Christ has been materializing in human flesh, in human beings, what there is in Heaven, in the Temple of God in Heaven.
